12 Dead After Plane Crash in Brazil Amazon’s Region

Rio De Janeiro: Twelve people were left dead after a small aeroplane crashed in Brazil’s Amazon region on Sunday. As per the press office of Governor Gladson Cameli, the plane went down near Rio Branco airport.

As per the Governor of Acre, the plane crashed minutes after takeoff, killing all 12 on board, including an infant.

The passengers included six men, three women, two pilots and a baby.

As per an AFP report, the plane went up in flames upon impact and caused a forest fire in the remote area near the Brazil-Peru border.

Local media reports have added that many of the passengers were actually returning to the Amazonas state after medical treatments. The plane was scheduled to land in Envira and was operated by a local firm ART Taxi Aereo.

The plane crash is being investigated by local authorities. As per authorities, the cause of the crash remains unknown.
